Re:Act is quite possibly going to be the biggest event we're putting on this year as part of Hope 2008. It is a free family fun day which will be hosted by local churches in a Bedford park, in partnership with Urban Saints (formerly Crusaders). The day will be completely free, and includes inflatables, live bands, a barbecue, refreshments, face painting and possibly much much more! Urban Saints and their partners are playing a vital part in helping co-ordinate this opportunity, both providing equipment and hosting a 10 day training opportunity for volunteers aged 14+, at least 60 of whom will be involved in running the Bedford event.
We'll be needing tons of volunteers for the day too, to help with everything from prayer to serving tea and coffee to flipping burgers on a barbecue. There'll be more info on this site about that closer to the time. If you're interested in helping us plan - come along to one of the meetings listed on the events page.
If you're a young person aged 14+ and you're intersted in the the training opportunities, both locally helping with events in this area or elsewhere in the country then you can find out more at the Urban Saints Re:Act Website.
Finally, although we do already have a number of churches involved in hosting the day, we'd love to have more, churches, companies and individuals. Even if you don't feel able to support us practically, there is inevitably a cost involved in putting on a free fun day which currently stands at around £3,000. Perhaps you or your church could consider contributing financially to this joint outreach.
